Bullies with a cause
During middle school I was not smart; I was sluggish and had no aim to where I wanted to be in life. I grew up in a blur, never knowing where my mind was but just knowing that I was there. I had no idea what made a person successful, or what I wanted to believe that I could be successful. My sense of reasoning came from bullies, so I admire them for making me smart, strong and ambitious.
Bullies were important to me because they have made the biggest impact on my life, by challenging me to see what’s better in life. Being criticized can hurt you but it makes you see that there is always something you can do to make their insults positive for you. I always suffered in silence but when I spoke out for the first time, it enlightened me to be better, and to shine some light in my eyes. Those people who made fun of me or said mean things to me, made me think of high goals that I wanted. Yale was the first goal I had in mind, because only the best are accepted. I made my list of all the Ivy League schools and the career possibilities I wanted and from the date, I have always worked my hardest and tried my best to be nothing more than extraordinary.
Harsh opinions and doubt from those closest to me has been the biggest motivator towards my ambitions. I have always heard that I was not smart enough to do the things I've wanted but I try anyway, sometimes they are right and other times I succeed. Working and always moving makes me a better person, so always trying to get ahead of your best try is the best plan I've ever had. Insults from those around me have always made me work hard for everything I've ever achieved.
My admiration for those who have tried to bring me down might be misplaced but they were my first step towards greatness. They were the beginning but now I have to keep building the steps until I feel it is okay to say that I have achieved everything that made it on my list.
